Having a sunburn sucks and having one right on your face sucks even more! The worst part is when it comes to washing your face – how do you do it without irritating the sunburn?! In this article, I’ll show you how!

Tips for Dealing with a Sunburn on your Face

  • Do not use your regular face wash.
  • Use only cold water to wash your face.
  • Do not scrub your face.
  • Moisturize with water-based products, avoiding the oil-based ones
  • Do not use toner.
  • Limit washing your face to only once/twice a day.
  • Try sleeping on a silk pillow case or facing upward.

How to Wash your Face with a Sunburn

Here’s what you can do to wash your face with a sunburn using natural ingredients that are soothing plus help promote quick healing!

What you Need:

  • 2 oz pure aloe vera gel
  • 1 oz raw honey
  • 4 oz amber glass jar
  • Medium sized bowl & whisk
  • Soft towel

Directions:

  1. First, we’re going to prepare a soothing and cooling face cleanser! In a glass bowl, add 2 oz of pure aloe vera gel and 1 oz of raw honey. Mix the two ingredients together using a whisk till well combined. Store in a 4 oz amber glass jar in your bathroom cabinet.   2. To wash your face, splash it about three times with cold water in the bathroom sink.
  3. Now using dry fingers, scoop out about 1 tsp of the aloe vera – honey face cleanser.
  4. Gently smooth it all over your face, without putting too much pressure.
  5. Allow the goodness to sit for a few seconds then gently rinse it off with cold water.
  6. Apply a little aloe vera gel on your damp face to lock in moisture then pat your face dry gently with a soft towel.
  7. Do this once or twice a day.
