The concept of adding shea butter to a liquid soap recipe sounds oh-so-luxurious. And it is! Since shea butter is an intense moisturizer, prepare to have baby soft and smooth hands!
Shea butter isn’t just incredibly moisturizing – it also contains nourishing vitamins like Vitamin A,E,K and F that feed the skin and make it supple and youthful.

DIY Shea Butter Liquid Soap Recipe
What you Need
- 2 tsp shea butter (where to get it)
- ¾ cup liquid castile soap (where to get it)
- ¾ cup distilled water (where to get it)
- 1 tsp vitamin E oil (where to get it)
- 1 tbsp vegetable glycerin (where to get it)
- 10 drops tea tree oil (where to get it)
- 7 drops lavender oil (where to get it)
- 3 drops peppermint oil (where to get it)
- Soap dispenser bottle (where to get it)
- Immersion blender (where to get it)
- Large bowl (where to get it)
- Pyrex measuring cup (where to get it)
Directions
- Melt the shea butter till it turns liquid. You can just pop the jar of shea butter in a bowl of hot water for it to liquefy or microwave it or use a double boiler – it’s your call.
- Now measure out the liquid castile soap and distilled water using a Pyrex measuring cup and pour them into a large bowl.
- Now pour in the melted shea butter and vegetable glycerin. Start blending the mixture slowly in small pulses till it’s well combined.
- Then add the vitamin E oil and essential oils and blend again till well mixed.
- Gently pour the mixture into the Pyrex measuring cup and transfer into your pump bottle.
- To use, pump once or twice on your palm, lather up then rinse thoroughly!
- Pat dry then apply a pea-sized amount of your usual moisturizer or pure shea butter to moisturize.
