Recommended Additions to this Aloe Vera Butter Recipe
It’s best to make the aloe vera butter with just the two ingredients above, then you can mix in other ingredients of your choice whenever you feel like having a different mix! What I mean is, if you want an acne cream, you’d get a pea-sized amount of the aloe vera butter, add 2 drops of tea tree oil and apply it on your face. If you want an uplifting citrus body butter, get 2 tsp of the aloe vera butter and add 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil then rub it all over your body. Isn’t this a great idea?!
Some good additions to this aloe vera butter include:
✾ Essential Oils – They are all-natural concentrated plant derivatives that have aroma therapeutic properties, skin healing qualities and gorgeous scents that last long. Add essential oils to benefit from their skin healing qualities, like tea tree for acne as mentioned above, and if you want your aloe vera butter to have a fragrance.
✾ Arrow Root Powder – If you find the aloe vera butter recipe to be a bit oily for your tastes or want a silkier butter, add about 1-2 tsp of arrow root powder. Arrow root can be substituted with corn starch, tapioca flour and rice flour.
✾ Plant Oils – Want a creamier and smoother butter that will glide on your skin and save you the time of ‘rubbing in’ your aloe vera butter? Or an intense moisturizing butter for rough, brittle and dry hair? Add a pure plant oil like coconut oil which has a high penetrative ability and sinks right into your skin or almond oil which has a light consistency and won’t grease up your skin.
✾ Vitamin E Oil – Known as the ‘skin vitamin’, vitamin E oil is a powerful anti-aging ingredient that wards off premature wrinkles. It’s also moisturizing and plays a big role in lengthening the shelf-life of this aloe vera butter!

It also won’t cause breakouts since it uses shea butter that has a non-comedogenic rating (pore-clogging ability) of zero! This means it won’t clog your pores.
