10 Beauty Benefits of Cucumbers for Skin & Hair
Below are 10 amazing beauty benefits of cucumbers for your skin, hair & more!
1. Calms Puffy Eyes
This is by far the most classic beauty benefit of cucumbers. I mean, we’ve all used cucumber slices on our eyes during a facial treatment (at home or professional) haven’t we?!
Cucumbers calm puffy eyes and reduce redness so if you wake up with eye bags, grab a cucumber from the fridge, cut two slices, lie down and apply them over your eyes. After 15 minutes, discard the slices and look at your eyes! The puffiness is sure to have reduced significantly!
2. Hydrates Skin
Does your skin look dry dehydrated and dull? Then you need to make a cucumber face mask! It revitalizes skin cells by pumping them up with much-needed water.
- Hydrating Face Mask: To make a hydrating face mask with cucumbers, simply blend 1 peeled and chopped cucumber with 1 tomato. Pour the puree into an ice cube tray and freeze for an hour. Use one ice cube to make a hydrating face mask as follows: Crush up a cucumber-tomato ice cube in a bowl then add 1 tsp of kaolin clay and ½ tsp honey. Mix well to form a paste and apply it on your face, avoiding the eyes. Rinse off after 15 minutes for fresh hydrated skin!

For sensitive skin, wrap the ice cube in a hanky or washcloth before applying.

When applied on irritated skin like rashes, poison ivy blisters and other skin irritations, cucumber gives a pleasant cooling sensation that brings much-needed relief!
