Dark spots on legs can mean a variety of things. Personally, when I hear the phrase ‘dark spots on legs’ I immediately think of ingrown hairs. But it can be different things for many people: mosquito bite scars, chicken pox scars, shaving dots or basically anything else. Most of them, however, are caused by scarring or shaving.

How to Use Shea Butter for Dark Spots on Legs
To begin your shea butter treatment, the first thing you gotta do is wash and exfoliate your legs very well. Exfoliating helps A TON in getting rid of scars overtime. It also minimizes ingrown hairs, if that’s what’s causing your dark spots. So what’s you’re going to do is use a gentle but effective sugar scrub to scrounge off the dead cells on your legs. Exfoliating will help by lifting off the old dark skin off the dark spots. Note that this won’t happen in a jiffy but overtime! So here’s how to go about using shea butter for your dark spots:
1. Make an exfoliating sugar scrub. Combine ½ cup of fine white sugar with ¼ cup sunflower oil. Store in a clean container in the refrigerator. Now once in two days, take a hot shower then gently scrub about 1-2 tsp of the sugar scrub all over your legs or where the dark spots are. Make sure to apply the scrub on wet legs. Scrub for a minute then rinse off.
2. Wash with African Black Soap. Now pump some liquid African Black soap onto your hand and wash your legs. Wipe your legs dry. African black soap is 100% natural and deeply cleanses pores. It helps with stuff like clogged pores, acne and uneven skin.
3. Okay, it’s time to apply some shea! But rather than using it directly, it’s much more effective if you add other scar-erasing ingredients like vitamin E oil to it! So add 2 tbsp shea butter, 1 tsp vitamin e oil, 5 drops lavender oil and 5 drops frankincense oil to a mixing bowl. Now whip all ingredients using a hand mixer until light and fluffy. It may take 2-3 minutes. Voila! Your cream is ready! Store in a clean container. Apply some all over your legs.
4. Repeat this every other day or at least thrice a week because exfoliating daily is not recommended.
