DIY Whipped Shea Butter Sugar Scrub

Sugar scrubs are so invigorating! They scrounge off dead cells and reveal beautiful soft skin underneath. And if you use shea butter in your sugar scrubs, your skin will be extra soft and luscious!

Making sugar scrubs is super easy too – all you need is good old sugar, an oil of your choice and some essential oil s to give it a scent. Of course, you can also add embellishments like dried flower petals or food coloring especially when you’re gifting your sugar scrubs!

For this whipped sugar scrub recipe, our oil of choice is going to be shea butter and sweet almond oil! Why? Cuz they’re awesome beauty oils with numerous skin benefits!

Now without further rambling, here’s the recipe for the world’s best whipped shea butter sugar scrub 😉

What you need

½ cup shea butter (where to get it)
1 cup fine white sugar (where to get it)
¼ cup sweet almond oil (where to get it)
½ tsp vitamin E oil (where to get it)
1 tsp arrow root powder (where to get it)
10 drops essential oil of choice (I love rosemary, geranium & peppermint)
Large mixing bowl (where to get it)
Hand mixer (where to get it)
Wide-mouth container (where to get it)

Directions

Begin by scooping your shea butter into the large mixing bowl. Now using your hand mixer, beat the shea butter until fluffy. While beating, keep adding your almond oil a little by little.
Once the almond oil is all added, add the rosemary oil and vitamin E oil and beat again.
Finally, add the arrow root powder and sugar a little by little then give everything a final whip.
Your end result should be soft and fluffy butter that’s slightly grainy because of the sugar.
Transfer into wide mouth container and store in a cool dry place.
To use, scoop a few tbsp (1-2) into a bowl and take it to the shower with you.
Use on wet skin to scrub the dead cells away!
