How To Make Rice Face Mask & Rice Toner for Glass Skin with Only 1 Ingredient

It’s the biggest Asian beauty secret that’s now revealed to the whole world. Wondering how Asians have amazing firm, supple and porcelain skin, also known as glass skin? It’s simply because they use RICE for skin care! But no one tells you how to use rice correctly for your skin. You can’t use raw rice grains on your skin and you may not even want to use rice powder on your skin (although rice powder is excellent for skin care too)! I’ll show you how to make rice water and rice starch for a rice face mask EXACTLY the way my Korean friend showed me!

Different Ways to Use Rice for Skin Care

Yes, there are different ways rice is used in Asian beauty. I’ve tried them all. From cold infusions (soaking) to fermentation (for 48 hours) to boiling. I’ve covered these methods in other posts, which I’ll link. But today we are going to be cooking/boiling our rice to make rice starch water that will be used as a spray and also as a face/body mask.

Why use this boiling method? You’ll find that using the boiling method of rice skin care is probably the best method, even more than rice powder and soaking. This is because boiling the rice makes it perfect for sensitive skin, and won’t be harsh on your skin. It is also more moisturizing, unclogs your pores, and gently removes clogged pores. In my opinion this method is the best to achieve actual glass skin. The only downside is that the process is longer since you have to cook it and wait for it to cool and so on.

How To Make Rice Face Mask & Rice Face Spray for Glass Skin

Let me teach you what my Korean friend taught me – 2 in 1 rice glass skin hack for beauty. At the end of this you’ll have a rice face toning milk and a rice glass skin face mask, only 1 ingredient needed – rice! Here’s what you need:

 Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of water

Directions

  1. Get a large bowl and put your rice into it.
  2. Wash the rice twice to remove impurities.
  3. Transfer your washed rice into a large pan
  4. Pour 2 cups of water into the pan
  5. Cook your rice for about 20 minutes or until the water reduces to 1 cup.
  6. Allow your boiled rice and rice water to cool in the pan (about an hour)
  7. When it is completely cool, strain ¾ of the liquid. This is your boiled rice water. Transfer your rice water into an ordinary spray bottle ready to use.
  8. Now with your remaining cooked rice and the water left, what should you do with it? Well this is your rice starch to use as a face mask or body mask to make your skin soft, supple, tight and glassy, baby.

How to Use Rice Face Mask Starch

With your remaining cooked rice, you’ll need to transfer the rice, and the little remaining cooked rice water to a blender and grind it to a smooth paste. Transfer your rice paste to a container, ready for application.

You can apply it as it is to your skin. Or you can take it to another level by adding other natural skin care ingredients like honey, yogurt, milk and others to make a more complex face mask. Apply onto your face or body and allow it to work it’s magic for 15 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water and rinse off again with cold water. Wow! You have achieved glass skin!

How to Use Rice Water for Skin

With the boiled rice water that you transferred to a spray bottle, you can spray this water onto your face as a facial toner. It will give you glass skin. You can use this rice spray twice a day. Store in the refrigerator. You can also use a cotton ball to apply it gently onto skin.

How Often to Use Rice for Skin

You can use your boiled rice water everyday 2x a day. As for the rice face mask, you only need to apply it once or twice a week since it has exfoliating abilities, you don’t want to over do the face mask.
