Top 5 Hair Masks for Hair Growth with Superfoods

If you are short on time, but still want to treat your hair to a nourishing, healing spa experience, please make any of these easy hair masks below. You can try one hair mask a week because I’m telling you each of these hair masks is powerfully beneficial in its own right!

1. Turmeric Hair Mask

Turmeric is a powerful antibacterial super ingredient for health care and when used as a hair mask it reduces scalp inflammation, dandruff, scalp acne & scalp infections that cause hair loss.

Ingredients Turmeric Hair Mask

  • 1/4 Cup Turmeric Powder
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt
  • 10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil (optional)

Method Turmeric Hair Mask

  1. Get a bowl, put 1 – 2 Tablespoons of turmeric powder & 1/2C of Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix the two thoroughly to form a smooth fluffy paste
  3. Add 10 drops of tea tree Essential Oil (optional) to further boost hair growth
  4. Apply onto your hair and scalp using a hair mask brush or your fingers.
  5. Cover your hair & leave on for 20 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Wash off with lukewarm water (never hot water!) and shampoo as usual

2. Amla Hair Mask

Amla is another superfood hailing from india. Make a hair mask with dry amla powder if you want to strengthen hair follicles, prevent premature aging, and get really shiny hair because amla is rich in Vitamin C!

Ingredients Amla Hair Mask

  • 1/4 Cup Amla Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
  • 10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil (optional)

Method Amla Hair Mask

  1. Get a bowl, put 1/4 C of amla powder & 1/2C of Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix the two thoroughly to form a smooth fluffy paste

Ingredients Moringa Hair Mask

  • 1/4 Cup Moringa Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
  • 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil (optional)

Method Moringa Hair Mask

  1. Get a bowl, put 1/4 C of moringa powder & 1/2C of Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix the two thoroughly to form a smooth fluffy paste
  3. Add 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil (optional) to stimulate hair follicles
  4. Apply onto your hair and scalp using a hair mask brush or your fingers.
  5. Cover your hair & leave on for 20 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Wash off with lukewarm water (never hot water!) and shampoo as usual

 4. Hibiscus Hair Mask

Hibiscus is a well-known bright red flower that is also used as natural shampoo because of its natural saponin content. Use this hibiscus hair mask to condition hair, reduce hair fall, cool a hot inflamed scalp and prevent hair fall caused by excess heat, inflammation and irritation in your hair follicles.

Ingredients Hibiscus Hair Mask

  • 1/4 Cup Hibiscus Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
  • 10 drops of Rose Essential Oil (optional)

Method Hibiscus Hair Mask

  1. Get a bowl, put 1/4 C of hibiscus powder & 1/2C of Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix the two thoroughly to form a smooth fluffy paste
  3. Add 10 drops of Rose Essential Oil (optional) to infuse your scalp with more antioxidants & make your hair smell DIVINE
  4. Apply onto your hair and scalp using a hair mask brush or your fingers.
  5. Cover your hair & leave on for 20 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Wash off with lukewarm water (never hot water!) and shampoo as usual

5. Activated Charcoal Hair Mask

Activated charcoal is basically really fine molecules of charcoal created from burning coconut shells. It has a very high surface area so it is very efficient in absorbing toxins and product build up in the scalp. Activated charcoal detoxifies the scalp, removes impurities and helps treats excess oiliness that weighs down your hair.

Ingredients Charcoal Hair Mask

  • 1/4 Cup Activated Charcoal Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
  • 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil (optional)

Method Activated Charcoal Hair Mask

  1. Get a bowl, put 1/4 C of activated charcoal powder & 1/2C of Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix the two thoroughly to form a smooth fluffy paste
  3. Add 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil (optional) to detox & purify your scalp
  4. Apply onto your hair and scalp using a hair mask brush or your fingers.
  5. Cover your hair & leave on for 20 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Wash off with lukewarm water (never hot water!) and shampoo as usual
