What Makes Himalayan Salt Good for Deodorant?

Below are a few reasons why Himalayan salt is good for use in a deodorant:

► Minerals – Himalayan salt is super rich in minerals that nourish the skin and help it detox. They include magnesium, potassium, sodium and more.

► Antibacterial – It kills off bacteria and germs that are the number one cause of bad body odor. When we sweat, it doesn’t stink but when the bacteria on skin mix up with the sweat is when the BO comes in full blast.

► Neutralizes bad body odor – Salt absorbs the bad odor and neutralizes it.

► Fresh clean skin – Himalayan salt also soaks up excess sebum and sweat on the skin, keeping it fresh and clean.

DIY Himalayan Salt Deodorant – 2 Recipes

Below, I’ve listed two great DIY Himalayan salt deodorant recipes: one is a roll-on recipe and the other is a spray. I’d use the roll-on for winter and the spray for summer. But it’s all up to you! Choose whichever tickles your fancy!

1. DIY Roll-On Himalayan Salt Deodorant

What you need

  • 1 tbsp witch hazel (where to get it)
  • ½ tbsp vegetable glycerin (where to get it)
  • 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt (where to get it)
  • 5 drops rosemary oil (where to get it)
  • 5 drops peppermint oil (where to get it)
  • 5 drops lemon oil (where to get it)
  • Roller bottle with stainless steel roller ball (where to get it)

Directions

  1. Remove the stainless-steel roller ball from the bottle and add the essential oils.
  2. Add the Himalayan pink salt crystals and top with witch hazel and vegetable glycerine.
  3. Push back the roller ball firmly onto the bottle and shake well.
  4. Roll onto clean and dry underarms.

2. DIY Himalayan Salt Deodorant Spray Recipe

What you need

  • 3 oz distilled water (where it get)
  • 2 tsp fine Himalayan pink salt (where to get it)
  • 1 oz witch hazel (where to get it)
  • 1 tsp baking soda (where it get)
  • 10 drops essential oil of choice (I like tea tree for antibacterial properties, lemon for fresh clean scent, lavender for sensitive underarms and geranium for floral scent)
  • Small funnel or Pyrex measuring cup
  • 4 oz amber glass spray bottle (where it get)

Directions

  1. Heat the distilled water until very warm.
  2. Then dissolve the Himalayan sea salt and baking soda in it.
  3. Now let it cool off completely then mix in the witch hazel and drops of essential oil.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Carefully pour the Himalayan salt deodorant into a glass spray bottle. You many need a small funnel for this or use a Pyrex measuring cup.
  6. Spray onto clean and dry underarms as needed. Twice a day: before work in the morning and then in the evening works perfect.

What essential oils do you recommend for a manly scent? I’d like to make a spray for my son, that he can also spray onto his face masks/neck gaiters that he has to use at work. 😃

I tried the roll on recipe and omitted the essential oils. The salt did not dissolve and is separated at the bottom. Anyone else have this problem? Any way I can resolve? Gratitude and beautiful day blessings.
