2. External application of turmeric is equal to applying topical steroid creams for psoriasis
A study carried out by the Second Military Medical University, China in 2013 found that turmeric decreased the proliferation of cytokenes, which cause inflammation in psoriasis. This study not only confirmed turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties but also found that turmeric produced similar results to clobetasol a topical steroid cream often prescribed for psoriasis. (2)

3. Turmeric combined with phototherapy gives 81% improvement within 12 weeks
Testing performed in the Center of Dermatological Research, Spain in 2015 experimented on two groups of psoriasis sufferers – one to whom oral supplementation of turmeric, plus phototherapy was done, and one on whom only phototherapy was done. It was found that the group treated with turmeric plus phototherapy had 81% response rate, while those with phototherapy treatment alone showed only 30% treatment. Improvements were noted within 12 weeks. (3)
