Discover some of the most effective ways on how to use essential oils for wrinkles, why they work and 5 anti-aging products you can make yourself!
There are certain essential oils that are very powerful wrinkle-smoothing and fine line-fighting products of Nature. They actively fight off pro-aging free radicals, seal moisture as well as lift and firm sagging skin. These essential oils have magical properties that work in delaying wrinkles and keeping skin smooth and supple!
How Essential Oils Work in Treating Wrinkles
What makes essential oils so good for fighting fine lines and keeping wrinkles at bay is their magical properties. From skin tightening to powerful antioxidant activity, here are just a few of the amazing properties of essential oils for wrinkles:
► Skin Tightening: You must have noticed that essential oils don’t exactly have the ‘oily’ feeling of oils like olive, coconut, avocado, etc. They rather have a thin and non-oily liquid feel. This property makes them excellent natural astringents, which when applied, reduce oiliness as well as tighten/firm skin, thereby preventing saggy and droopy skin.
► Moisturizing: Certain essential oils such as sandalwood and geranium have moisturizing properties that keep skin looking soft, smooth and supple. They help seal moisture in the skin and treat dry skin, which is actually known to be more prone to wrinkles and fine lines.
► Anti-oxidant: It’s a well known fact that essential oils are powerful antioxidants. The job of antioxidants is to fight off free radicals that steal oxygen from healthy skin cells which causes them to become lifeless and leads to wrinkle formation. Essential oils ward off free radicals hence preventing pre-mature wrinkles and fine lines.
► Improves Circulation: Did you know that the skin, although being the largest body organ, is the last to receive nutrients? Yes, that’s why it’s important to eat a healthy and balanced diet so that the last remaining bit of all these nutrients can go to your skin. For wrinkles, ensure to eat enough foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids! Meanwhile, essential oils help improve blood circulation in the skin which ensures that each and every skin cell is nourished with nutrient-rich blood so as to function healthily and ward off premature aging.
► Increase Elasticity: Aging skin usually loses its elasticity and starts to sag and droop, gradually forming fine lines and wrinkles. By boosting collagen production, essential oils help keep your skin elastic and firm longer.

How to Use Essential Oils for Wrinkles
Make your own natural anti-aging serums, toners, night creams and face oils using essential oils, carrier oils, floral waters and natural butters. Here are 5 ways you can use the essential oils above to make your own natural anti-aging skin care products:
1. Skin Tightening Toner
This mild toner/facial astringent is for those with mature skin that is also oily. It helps reduce excess oiliness, tone the skin as well as tighten and lift skin. It smells and feels refreshing as well!
What You Need
– ½ oz rose water
– 3 drops lavender essential oil
How to Make
Add the rose water to a 2 oz amber glass spray bottle. Place 3 drops of lavender. Gently shake the bottle to combine the ingredients. Spritz on your face and neck to tone & tightening after cleansing.
2. Wrinkle-Smoothing Sandalwood Serum
I love the combination of coconut oil + sandalwood – it smells so much like warm breakfast muffins to me! Adding just a bit of rose gives it a beautiful feminine touch and rose hip oil is a popular anti-aging oil with a thin consistency that helps in skin tightening.
What You Need
– 1 oz rosehip seed oil
– ½ oz fractionated coconut oil
– 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
– 2 drops rose essential oil
How to Make
Combine all ingredients in a 2 oz amber glass dropper bottle. Place 2-3 drops between your palms, rub together and gently apply on your face, concentrating on the area under your eyes, cheeks and around your mouth.
3. Anti-Aging Face Cream
For skin types more prone to dryness, use this night cream that nourishes and moisturizes. It promotes healthy, glowing, soft and supple skin!
What You Need
– 3 oz raw shea butter
– 1 oz coconut oil
– 7 drops rose geranium essential oil
– 3 drops frankincense essential oil
– 2 drops myrrh essential oil
How to Make
Add all ingredients in an electric stand mixer. Beat for about 2-3 minutes or until it turns into a fluffy white mixture. Transfer the mixture into a sterilized amber glass container. Apply a pea-sized amount on your face before bed.
4. Night-Time Nourishing Face Oil
To me, this face oil is perfect as an overnight skin treatment to nourish, rejuvenate and soften skin as well as fight off wrinkle-causing free radicals. Using it at night is the best time because this is when your skin repairs itself.
What You Need
– 2 oz liquid coconut oil
– 2 tsp vitamin E oil
– 6 drops neroli essential oil
– 2 drops carrot seed essential oil
How to Make
Place all ingredients in an amber glass dropper bottle. Gently massage 2-3 drops on your clean face.
5. Mature Skin Moisturizer
Moisturizing is the key to wrinkle-free skin. Dry skin is very very susceptible to fine lines & wrinkles and appears dull and withered-looking. Make this simple mature skin moisturizer that has great anti-aging properties for soft, smooth and supple skin!
What You Need
– 3 oz pure aloe vera gel
– 5 drops helichrysum essential oil
– 3 drops rose essential oil
– 3 drops lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients in an amber glass container. Apply onto your face after cleansing to tone, tighten and firm skin as well as smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

am really happy I stumbled on this site.am so trying out almost 80% of your recipe as this is just the breather I need.
I have black circles round my eye area-how can I eradicate that?
Beautymunsta says
Bunmi, a secret remedy for dark circles I recently discovered is clove oil! You can use a tiny amount under your eyes every night before bed to gradually lighten the darkness. If it’s too potent for you, then mix it with another oil like coconut or jojoba and apply.
Another dark circle remedy I know is potato slices (just lie down for 15 minutes with the slices on your dark circles).
Then there’s parsley – just grind it to a paste using a little hot water and a mortar and pestle. Apply to your dark circles and let it sit for 15 minutes. Do the potato and parsley treatments at least twice a week and the clove oil – try to do it every other day to see immediate results.
Hope this helps! Take care xoxo

I have age scar, dark patches and spots on my thighs and legs as a result of boils mosquito bites and itching I suffered as a child. I am in my 40’s, but the scar refused to clear, I also have a very sensitive skin. I am not very fair but light in complexion, ,ie brown skin, I’m not a dark person and hates bleaching. What should I use. Thanks a lot.
